6/12/2023 0 Comments No exit taylor adams summary![]() ![]() ![]() Well, I can tell you I didn’t eat popcorn whilst watching the film, so it can’t be true. Upon its release, the film received mixed reviews from critics, who said that it was a popcorn film. Originally, the film was intended for a theatrical release, but it was released for streaming online instead. I was hesitant, but I was willing to see it, since there was the curious part of me that wanted to see what the film would be like. It was my Dad who suggested we check this film out. Usually, I’m not one for checking out intense thriller films like ‘No Exit’, which was released in February this year. Season 3 of ‘The Orville’ was on Hulu first before it was put on Disney+. Arguably, this is a Star film as opposed to a Disney+ film, but ‘No Exit’ was first released on Hulu by 20th Century Studios (I still feel that it should be called 20th Century Fox). ![]() Last weekend, I saw the thriller film ‘No Exit’ on Disney+. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley. ![]()

Some of the locations are modern, like the classrooms & hallways, but the outside world and the school exterior match the medieval Queen's Blade world. ![]() The ''story'' comes from a few of the various high school anime cliches that the characters experience, but many cliches are not used. Instead of a tournament, they attend a high school with giant stone boobs on the entrance wall. ![]() Most characters wear a sailor-style school uniform that matches their original outfits. These are Japanese high school parodies of the characters and the world of Queen's Blade. Story- (Each episode is only 2 minutes 40 seconds long) This is a review from a Queen's Blade fan. [For the record, I enjoy Queen's Blade itself and I gave it 7/10. The special episodes of season 2 are significantly better. It's important to note that this review is for the special episodes of season 1. ![]() I was disappointed on every front (story, art, sound, etc., all of it). I read about 3 or 4 books and remember enjoying them. When I was about 11 or 12 while searching for Nancy Drew books at the school library I stumbled upon this series about a nurse. My Childhood Challenge Re-Read for the month of May Tatham later returned the Vicki Barr books to Wells in 1953 and the Cherry Ames books in 1955. And, as Francine Lewis, she penned the short-lived Polly French series (1950s), aimed at a younger readership.Īfter writing the first eight books of the Cherry Ames series and the first three Vicki Barr books, Wells decided to abandon both series to write for television and radio, and Julie Tatham took over (however, both the ninth Cherry Ames book and the fourth Vicki Barr book were published under Wells's name). ![]() She was also the author of the Vicki Barr books, about a young mystery-solving flight attendant. ![]() In 1934 Wells graduated from New York University, with a major in philosophy and a minor in sociology and psychology.ĭuring World War II, she served as a volunteer with the State Department's Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs, escorting Latin American visitors in the United States.Īuthor of Cherry Ames, Nurse books, a series for young teens. ![]() Social worker turned full-time young adult writer, born in Illinois but moved with family to New York City when she was seven. ![]() ![]() ![]() Can Ryn protect Naomi while still passing for a human?Īs I mentioned before, this is a darker, grittier book. ![]() She soon finds herself connecting with Naomi the daughter of a Senator whose life is in danger. They put her in a group home and make her go to school when all she wants to do is eat the hearts of monsters. When she is found by the US Army, her small statue and young appearance gets her mistaken for a teenager. Ryn has existed since before humans came up with the concept of time. ![]() Ryn is a monster/goddess/deva (I have to look up this deva term and see if it has any mythology to it, I never heard of the name before) and her job is to eat other monsters (the human or paranormal kind). The fact this book is free with Kindle Unlimited, makes this read seem like an absolute steal. I actually got this book as my free Kindle Unlimited book of the month, which I get from my Prime membership. This book does deal with some tough subjects that might be hard for younger readers. And while I consider this YA, I think this is more of a book for adults. This is actually one of my favorite YA books I have read this year. This was a gritty, YA urban fantasy/paranormal book, and I loved it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That animation, called My Three Body first aired in 2014 and just finished up its third series on Bilibili, scoring a stonking 9.7 stars on notoriously hard-to-please rating site Douban. ![]() With a high-profile Bilibili adaptation by YooZoo Pictures in the works, often overshadowed is the quirky, Minecraft-animation adaptation of the trilogy by a company called The Three-Body Universe. More recently, talk about big and small screen adaptations of Liu’s work has turned to his excellent and sprawling trilogy, Remembrance of Earth’s Past (commonly referred to by the name of the first novel in the series, The Three-Body Problem). That didn’t exactly come to fruition, but it certainly made folks around the world sit up and recognize China’s science fiction, as well as film production, chops. That movie was famously released at the beginning of 2019 to rave reviews and talk of a crossover global hit. The smash box office hit, The Wandering Earth, is based on a novella written by the Shanxi-born writer. Winner of prestigious science fiction literary prize the Hugo Award, as well as a firm favorite of former US president Barack Obama, Liu’s work has had a wide-ranging influence within Chinese culture. ![]() 6/10/2023 0 Comments Amy adams in the glass menagerie![]() ![]() The Glass Menagerie is Laura’s collection of glass animals she has collected while secluded from the outside world, they represent her family, hopes and dreams and have pride of place, possibly a little too much attention-stealing in its vast glass cabinet. It’s a beautifully created production, and there is no need for meta theatre to be enforced on the play, Williams gives us that in his superb opening monologue, embracing the fact that this is a memory play, the actors greeting each other on stage before the show begins. Whilst the tale of faded Southern Belle Amanda, trying desperately to fix her daughter, Laura, up with a gentleman caller lacks the melodrama and histrionics of later plays, there is power in its gentleness. Tennessee Williams’s first hit is given an inventive new production directed by Jeremy Herrin that gently finds new layers due to some inventive casting.
